Conundrum. Then there is the black & white version. I’ve mentioned this dilemma before in an earlier post – a rose image. I love the b&w too for varied reasons, impressions received back. Totally different feeling exuded, another subject even. Maybe that is the way it should be, and I should not interfere with making a judgement either/or. They each stand alone with individual styles of existence.

I’ve heard it in the past, that color is more popular than b&w. More marketable in our culture. It may be true, but I know the aficionados also love to see b&w, like I do. My work was juried into a recent show…the color work was chosen, the monotone not. Black and white art is a separate reality, but what makes it so?
