This image is included in the new show at Confluence Gallery, Twisp, WA., ongoing from June 3 to July 12. The theme of the show is Re-Creation – the artists’ take on activities in the outdoors. I have been shooting target arrows since middle school. I am now interested in the Asian method of archery, the beautiful bows, the arrows, the embedded history. I make my own arrows and weave bowstrings to fit. Is it art? I sense a meditative art in putting feathers on bamboo shafts. Then, in an evening’s calm, drawing back the bowstring and flying the arrow to the target.
