Artist Statement – Intimacy
The philosopher Susanne Langer – seeking a definition for Art across all mediums – wrote: ‘Art is forms symbolic of human feeling.’ Simple, and I have always agreed. I fall in love with a form and then attempt to express the feeling within it, and myself. It is intimate, personal, complete in itself. As Langer also wrote: When it becomes Art, the subject of the artwork ’is more than it once was”.

The created art-form is the vehicle the feeling rides within, conveyed from a gallery wall, destination unknown…
