winter confessions

Surrounded by deep winter snow outside my window, the ripe red of this last summer’s collected flower, and the reflective darkness of the composition, seems just right. I urge Spring to finally arrive again, and take me out of my gathering shadows.

I find it interesting that I have been doing artwork lately that is about rhythm. Totally subconscious, but surfacing in the work. Here is another.

This is new work, that begins a new series. It was difficult getting just the right mix of gray-tones in the final print, that are difficult to show on this screen. After wasting paper and ink on test prints, I finally achieved what I imagined. Who said digital printing is automated?!
