Spring Berry series

A new show opens Friday, September 1, at Gallery One, in Ellensburg, WA. The gallery is showing work of artists from the Okanogan region of  Washington. The show at this fine gallery runs from September 1 – 30.

The Spring Berry series came from my collecting berries on my mountain property, prior to the wildfire which swept thru on August 19, 2015, breathing up everything in its path. I saved my film negatives and digital images first, as I rushed to escape. And these are the first images I made in the aftermath. The black and white pigment ink prints on cotton printmaking paper are mounted on 12×12″ or 11×14″ birch panels and then beeswaxed in wonderful-smelling yellow beeswax. They can be seen in better detail on my website, link upper-right above.

start over

What a wild ride! After a two year hiatus while I rebuilt my life after the wildfire destroyed everything,  I had difficulty with my website and this photo journal.  I have solved the website problems and it is where it should be, but the journal – I am starting over.  Starting over can be a good thing, a freshness, a simplicity, but a few readers will be a bit lost. I apologize –  the technology requires you to keep pace with it…no allowances for tragedies. I guess stumbles aren’t supposed to happen, and yet a non-chaotic life is an exception, not the norm.
