More work with the vellum and gold leaf prints. After many experiments learning my relationship with this process, I have come to a reckoning and am happy. Lots of trial and error, but now I am about to show the work. I have three images framed 20×16 – small prints, but that is where they ‘shine’. The images above cannot show the shimmer of the gold leaf, but it is surely there, and seen well in person. They have an organic quality and a personal feel in their presentation. They will be shown in the Perspectives show at Confluence Gallery, November 19, 2022 thru January 7, 2023.

Art Model
Nude with Stones, 1995
I recently watched a netflix movie, The Artist and the Model. A beautiful classic b&w film, immersed in feeling, that inspires me to work with a model once again. I live in an isolated rural and relatively conservative area (tho replete with nature), and it can be difficult to find a model for this near-sacred collaboration. That is, it isn’t a college town with art students and art galleries. It is a fine place for making art, but the marketplace is somewhere distant. The movie though, and the image above, urges one on. This one I made using infrared film, one of my favorites for this style of work. Nature and natural.
