Prairie Smoke

Prairie Smoke, 1993. Archival Pigment Print on Paper. 26″x20″ & 19-/2″x15″. Limited Edition of 25 each size.

The Confluence Gallery is giving me a large space in the January 2024 exhibit to show a group of my early work. One might call it a mini-retrospective. I will include Prairie Smoke along with others created up to the present year.

Tea

A lovely friend left me a box of turmeric ginger tea. I always feel different after drinking it, both in a physical sense and one of spirit.

North Cascades

I just returned from a two-day trip across the North Cascades highway to Bainbridge Arts and Crafts Gallery on the coast. The scenic highway is about to close for the winter due to avalanches and the impossible snow removal. But it was open for another day and I made the quiet, beautiful crossing. The highest roadway elevation on the route is 5477 feet.

Liberty Bell Mountain, 7720′.

First Snow

On waking, I find the first snow of the season. Not a flurry before this, which is normal, a gradual awakening to winter. Instead this year, a heavy deluge all at once. About five inches so far, and more expected.
